Committing to integrating the past, animating the present to inspire the future
I met William Commanda on 11 April 1997, when I was working in Aboriginal Justice for the federal government in Canada. When I realized how important his work was, I took early retirement (2002) to support his efforts probono; his work became mine - and ours: the passion, commitment and creativity of so many have animated the spirit of the Circle of All Nations. As Grandfather desired, we commit to continue with his efforts, individually and collectively. Many walk forward along new pathways, inspired by his example.
I coordinated the Circle of All Nations work from August 2007 and published three books about the work of Wiilliam Commanda (Learning from a Kindergarten Dropout, Books One and Two, and a Kayak Photo Journal) and manage the Circle of All Nations and Asinabka websites and Wiliam Commanda, Circle of All Nations and Romola Facebook Pages. Till his passing in Auguest 2011, William Commada, our techo elder was activily involved in all these communications efforts.
I am presently involved in formal academic studites to further animate his imcomparable efforts.
